Whenever I want to read a fun fantasy with unique magical systems and with romance, I turn to Charlie N. Holmberg. Though I was a bit disappointed with Holmberg’s most recent novel, Spellmaker, I was positively delighted by The Will and the Wilds, which gave me the same sweet and magical feeling as novels like East and Ella Enchanted. I was quickly drawn into the main character Enna’s world, which […]
After reading Charlie N. Holmberg’s Spellmaker and Spellbreaker, I wanted to read another of the author’s works. After perusing more of her novels, I settled on Followed by Frost, which follows a teenaged girl named Smitha, who is cursed to be as “cold as her heart” due to her lack of care for anyone’s feelings but her own. When I need a fun, magical book to read, I look no further than author Charlie N. Holmberg’s works. Spellbreaker takes place in Victorian England, combining historical fiction, magic, romance, and mystery all into one entertaining read. As usual, I was enchanted by author Holmberg’s writing, even though Spellbreaker focuses […]

In the Plastic Magician, main character American-German Alvie Brechenmacher, delves into the newly discovered magic of Polymaking, the magical discipline of plastic, and finds herself across the pond in England, apprenticing with world-renowned Magician Marion Praff in what is another quirky and dear adventure. This book has everything, a […]
