Monthly Wrap-Up: April 2022

The first week of May is almost over, but here I am with my wrap-up for April. I’ve been experiencing the dreaded burnout recently on almost everything lately and it’s been hard to get myself to sit down and do anything remotely productive. I’m even failing to keep up with my plethora of daily webtoons. Despite this, I did manage to get a few things accomplished.

Wrap-Up : Games

Games Played April 2022

Horizon Forbidden West

I finally finished my playthrough of Horizon Forbidden West, achieving the platinum, and about 87% completion in the game. Hopefully one of these days I’ll get around to writing my final thoughts on the game.

Dead by Daylight

My addiction to this game is still going strong. This month I finally somewhat successfully learned how to use a flash light at once. And I succumbed to buying my Claire Redfield skin while she was on sale.

Back 4 Blood : Tunnels of Terror DLC

I got back into playing Back 4 Blood, and was happily surprised by the addition of so much new content, like Ridden Caves, and new cleaners.

Doki Doki Literature Club

Holy crap, was this game an experience. It was like watching an adorable and disturbing car crash that I couldn’t look away from no matter how much I sort of wanted to. Definitely recommend this for fans of the anime Madoka Magicka.

Wrap-up : Movies and Tv

Schitt’s Creek

The only thing I really watched this month was Schitt’s Creek. I watched the entire first season and part of the second season. I find it pretty entertaining, especially the character of David.

Wrap-up : Books

In April, I managed to read eight books, though am still tragically behind on my Goodreads challenge. By far the standout of April’s for me was Travis Baldree’s Legends and Lattes. I loved this cozy, slice of life fantasy novel about a former warrior orc starting up a coffee shop and I cannot recommend it enough.

Though I enjoyed reading the Bridgerton novels, being a fan of the show, I found that the quality of the series greatly diminished as I progressed through it. The last Bridgerton novel I truly enjoyed was the second in the series, and I completely stopped reading the series after the fourth book.

Next Month

I am really looking forward to watching the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series that is coming to Disney + in May. And I also can’t wait for season 4 of Stranger Things!

As far as novels, I’m currently reading an ARC of Babel by R.F. Kuang and just received another for The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia so look for those reviews in the future!

I’m still currently in a post-Horizon Forbidden West game hole and have not picked up any new games (except for Doki Doki Literature Club, which was a whole different kind of experience), at present. Hopefully, I’ll find some motivation soon.

What did you do last month and what are you looking forward to this month?
