The Spooky Would You Rather Book Tag

The Spooky Would You Rather Book Tag

Happy Halloween!

It’s been a very long time since I completed any kind of a tag. Because I always find tags, especially Halloween-themed ones, fun to answer and to read, I figured now was the perfect time to answer one, as a treat! I found this Spooky Would You Rather Book Tag on The Critiques of a Fangirl and the tag itself was created by The Book Pusher.

The Tag

Thrillers or supernatural?

Nowadays, supernatural! I used to love thrillers and read tons of Lisa Gardener novels and other similar authors, but I haven’t read any of those in years.

Ghosts or zombies?

Ghosts, hands-down. I don’t really find zombies scary, unless it’s something like Mr. X stomping after me in the Raccoon City Police Department or otherwise being trapped in a small enclosed space with the flesh-eaters.

Vampires or werewolves?

This is probably the hardest question on this would-you-rather for me. But at the end of the day, vampires are just so iconic. And I can’t help but relate to the whole creature-of-the-night vibe thing as a chronic night-owl.

Witches or demons?

Witches! I’ve had so much fun reading The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and Cackle this year. I also really enjoyed The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow in the past. There’s just something magical about women taking power into their own hands and going after what they want. Plus, demons scare the literal crap out of me. I have still not recovered from reading Pet Semetary.

Read a book with 13 chapters or a book with a black cat on the cover?

A book with a black cat on the cover! I absolutely adore black cats, forever sad I’m allergic.

Read a spooky book in the dark with only a candle for light or by yourself in a locked brightly lit room?

If I’m reading a spooky book, playing a spooky game, or watching a spooky movie, it 100% has to be in the dark.

Face your worst fears or be trapped in the mind of a killer?

I really don’t want to be trapped in a small space with clowns, snakes, and spiders, so I guess I’ll go with being trapped in the mind of a killer. At least maybe I could write an amazing novel after that experience.

Watch a scary movie or read a scary book?

I’d rather read a scary book! I think the imagination is often so much scarier than anything we can actually see. That being said, I’m also a huge weenie during scary movies. I fall prey to every single jump scare possible.

Read spooky books during the autumn or all year?

I like to read spooky books all year long, but especially during autumn! There’s something about just knowing that Halloween is right around the corner that makes reading spooky books even more fun.

Read 10 spooky books in October or 10 spooky books all year?

Well, this year, I managed to read 7 spooky books in October, so I guess it would be more accurate to say 10 spooky books all year!
